services: Schmidt Design Studio
Schmidt Design Studio offers an hour free initial consultation at the beginning of a project. We want you to be comfortable not only with the designers, but with our process as well. During this time we can review the company’s portfolio, review the project scope and services needed, discuss fees for the project, and your expectations for our services to see if we are a fit for you.
If you decide to obtain our services, we will then sit down during this phase to gather information regarding the project. We will present our contractual agreement for you to sign and we will evaluate your goals and what you’d like to accomplish for the project. Next, we’ll gather facts on the existing conditions or requirements of the project then organize those facts so that they are easy to understand. We’ll also determine the needs and evaluate the budgetary requirements as well as finalize fee arrangements.
Design work will now begin on your project. During this process and based on individual need, we will present to you various suggestions through the use of sketches, drawings, special layouts, finish selections, and photographs to convey our concept. This is the brainstorming phase and your input is always welcomed. We’ll develop a particular idea through meetings and discussions with you and from this, we’ll then move into design development.
At this point, we’ll help you decide the direction of the design and then work to develop the final design scheme best suited to the project. This would include design details such as final floorplan layouts, reflected ceiling plans, final finish specifications (carpet, wallcovering, etc.), furniture selections, architectural ceiling components, wall elevations, millwork details, etc. Typically a presentation board is presented after this time to convey the final design intent. Once agreed upon, we can then proceed in assisting you with placing orders on these items through various vendors, or working through the general contractor, should this apply to your project. We can also help project manage all aspects of the design process with various trades such as painters, carpenters, carpet/flooring installers, etc., to make sure your project is completed in a timely manner.
Schmidt Design Studio always follows through once a project is completed to make sure that you are pleased with the final outcome and product.
